I should have started this earlier...
I started a project at the start of the jam, but I never got it past the most basic stage. And yet here we are, making a whole new game in 5 days. Oops. So far the game is just a walking simulator but I am adding in a stalker to makes things more exciting. I still have a ways to go with the art but I think I will do a PSX style. I think the low fidelity leaves more to the imagination and therefore makes everything a bit spookier, but of course the main reason is because I have to finish this on time. I have really been enjoying this though. I am not a huge horror game fan because I prefer more psychological horror and eldritch monsters which can be hard to do justice in a video game. After all, if you can make a 3D model of it, is it really incomprehensible? But I am having fun working on my own little game and coming up with ideas. My idea for this project was to have a procedural hotel with a breaker switch and some locked doors but I couldn't get the generation to work as intended and even if I managed to, I don't think the quality of the level would be worth it. So I cut the procedural generation and am making one handmade level. I really want the player to have to deal with multiple entities that operate differently, so I hope I have time to add at least 2-3 of my concepts.
"Uh oh, it looks like the elevator broke down, could my night get any worse?" "helo", said Knife Guy...
